Heats 600-1000 square feet. Includes factory installed blower fan, thermostat and electronic ignition. Operates without electricity during power outages - this Propane heater is an excellent heat source during uncomfortable winter periods because the heater still heats when the electrically powered blower is inoperable. A 100lb or larger propane tank is required. We are regularly asked if it can be installed with a smaller tank (e.g. BBQ 20lb tank). For emergency purposes you COULD use a 20lb tank, but the connection isn't designed for it and after a while the unit would freeze up and shut down. After leaving it a while the heater could be re-used, but constant freezing/unfreezing will damage the unit. Local propane companies will typically sell or lease you a 100lb tank or a 300lb tank. And the beauty of these larger tanks... They last longer, need less refills and are typically cheaper to refill (per pound) than the smaller tanks.
