Operates without electricity during power outages - this vent free heater is an excellent heat source during uncomfortable winter periods because the heater still heats when the electrically powered blower is inoperable.

A 100lb or larger propane tank is required. We are regularly asked if it can be installed with a smaller tank (e.g. BBQ 20lb tank). For emergency purposes you COULD use a 20lb tank, but the connection isn't designed for it and after a while the unit would freeze up and shut down. After leaving it a while the heater could be re-used, but constant freezing/unfreezing will damage the unit. Local propane companies will typically sell or lease you a 100lb tank or a 300lb tank. An the beauty of these larger tanks... They last longer, need less refills and are typically cheaper to refill (per pound) than the smaller tanks.

The blower is built in so you get big savings when compared to the equivalent sized heaters without the blower such as DESA's. Not only do you save the 39 dollar price of the blower but you don't have the added task of taking the cover off of the heater to install the blower yourself.
Safety is an important factor with any heat source and this vent free heater, has a built-in low oxygen shut-off sensor (ODS system) that shuts the unit down if it ever detects a possible problem.
Operates during power outages without electicity, in this non-electric mode, the heater works without the blower.
