Operates without electricity during power outages - as this Vent free heater requires no electrical power.
Easy to install. Tools required: phillips screwdriver and pipe wrench. Feet kit (shown in picture) and wall mount bracket options are both included with the heater.
Safety is an important factor with any heat source and this Vent free heater, has a built-in low oxygen shut-off sensor (ODS system) that shuts the unit down if it ever detects a possible problem.
A 100lb or larger propane tank is required. We are regularly asked if it can be installed with a smaller tank (e.g. BBQ 20lb tank). For emergency purposes you COULD use a 20lb tank, but the connection isn't designed for it and after a while the unit would freeze up and shut down. After leaving it a while the heater could be re-used, but constant freezing/unfreezing will damage the unit. Local propane companies will typically sell or lease you a 100lb tank or a 300lb tank. And the beauty of these larger tanks... They last longer, need less refills and are typically cheaper to refill (per pound) than the smaller tanks.
Too large (by building code) for use in bathrooms. Not certified for use in recreational vehicles
The ignition system is battery powered. Simply unscrew the ignitor button to insert the battery.

Q. What's the difference between the red flame and the blue flame models ?
Blue flame heats air molecules, and tries to heat the entire room to a fairly uniform temperature so somebody sitting 10 ft from the heater should be about the same temperature as someone sitting 5 ft from it. Infrared heat heats objects rather than air, it is like a fire, the closer you sit the warmer you are. Infrared is a good choice for drafty rooms, rooms lacking good insulation or suffer frequent opening of exterior doors, and/or have soaring ceilings.
Q. Does it have a thermostat ?
No.
Q. Can I install a blower ?
No, this heater is physically too small to fit one.
