"National Riverside Company", "Scheu", "Universal heaters" and "DESA International" all went out of business during the recent recession. Spare parts can still be found for some of the old DESA models, but they're not being made in the same factories as before and in a few cases the high-ish cost for a low-ish quality part means that repairs are not as economical as buying a new heater.
